Daniel S. Singer of Trombly & Singer, PLLC recently won a $851,000 settlement for a premises liability case. Namely, Dan made this settlement on behalf of a woman who suffered a mild traumatic brain injury after being hit by a baseball.
At the time of the incident, the plaintiff was with her two sons at the St. James gym, a massive sports complex in Springfield, Virginia that has a full-sized indoor football, soccer, and lacrosse field referred to as the “Field House.” When the plaintiff entered the Field House, she was suddenly struck in the head by a baseball that had been hit off the metal bat of a 12-year-old who was taking live baseball batting practice outside of the designated “Hitting House.”
As a result, the plaintiff has been unable to work full-time since mid-2020, while she continues to experience chronic headaches, vertigo, and memory loss.
